Call-ups

A call-up is a match before the field is booked: you sign up for the times you can make, and the field is booked once there are enough people to play.

  • Free to sign up
  • Final price, never goes up
  • You only pay if you get a seat

How a call-up works

  1. The call-up opens

The organizer picks the field, the times, the seats for each time and the price per person.

  2. You sign up, for free

For the times you can make. You need a LocalMatch account.

  3. The field is booked

When a time gets enough people, the organizer books the field. If more people sign up than there are seats, we draw who plays.

  4. You secure your seat

Invites go out in waves, each with a deadline. The seat of anyone who does not secure it in time goes to the next person on the list.

Do you organize matches?

Create a call-up, share the link and book the field only once there are people to play.

Frequently asked questions

What is a call-up?

It is a match set up before the field is booked. The organizer picks the field and one or more times, people sign up for the times they can make, and the field is booked once there are enough people. First you gather the players, then you book the field.

How do I join a football match in Lisbon, or in another city?

Open the call-up you like on this page; when there are call-ups in more than one sport or city, you can filter them. You sign up for the times you can make and we let you know when the field is booked. Play today also has the matches already booked with seats left, which you can join straight away.

Can the price go up after I sign up?

No. The price per person the call-up shows is final. Once someone has signed up, the organizer can only lower it or keep it, and the match is created at that same price.

Does signing up cost anything?

No. Signing up is free and does not commit you to pay. You only pay if you get an invite and secure your seat.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You need a LocalMatch account to sign up. If you are not signed in yet, you create an account or sign in and come back to the call-up.

What if more people sign up than there are seats?

We draw. The draw runs once, when the time is booked, and the order is recorded. Invites go out in that order, and whoever is left out waits on the list: if someone does not secure their seat in time, the invite goes to the next person.

How long do I have to secure my seat?

The deadline comes with the invite and the organizer chooses it, in hours or in days. In a deadline in hours, the hours between midnight and 8am do not count; in a deadline in days, an end that would fall at night moves to 8am. The match's own cutoff always applies, even at night: an invite never runs past 24 hours before the start of a match still to be confirmed, nor past 2 hours before a confirmed one.

How and when do I pay?

By card, the amount is held when the match is confirmed and only charged the day after the match. With MB WAY, you pay once the match is confirmed. In a match that is only confirmed with every seat secured, only a card will do.

What if the match does not happen?

If the match is cancelled or does not get enough people to be confirmed, you do not pay: the amount held on your card is released, and a payment already made is refunded in full.

Can I leave the list?

Yes, at any time, on the call-up itself. As long as you have not secured a seat, leaving costs nothing.

How do I create a call-up?

You need an organizer account on LocalMatch. In your organizer area, under Match call-ups, you pick the field, the times, the seats for each time, the cost of the field and your margin per seat, and we work out the price per person. Then you share the link.
